Dr. Nicholas Nelson graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward California with the Academic distinction of Suma Cum Magna, as well as receiving the distinction of Clinical Honours on two separate occasions. His undergraduate education consisted of an eclectic study of Anthropology, Biology, Philosophy, and Psychology, doing one year at the University of Alberta, and completing his undergraduate education at Macewan University.
Before attending University, Dr. Nelson worked as a personal trainer for 4 years where he fell in love with the human body and human performance. Since he was a young boy, Dr. Nelson was obsessed with all things sport related, finding his biggest passions in Hockey and Skateboarding, so the transition to fitness as a specialty was a natural one. Upon entering University, he became addicted to learning and his fascination grew towards all things Science. This growing obsession helped him channel his love of physical training into a love of reading. If you are ever looking for him and he is not in his office, check the gym floor, or look for him outside basking in the sun, nose deep in a new book.
As a previous personal trainer, Dr. Nelson has a very good understanding of what it takes as an athlete to create purposeful changes within themselves and their performance. This knowledge of periodization and cause and effect responses to stress placed on the body provided a solid platform to stand on when he decided to undergo 8 more years of formal Scientific training to become a Doctor. Throughout his journey, Dr. Nelson always maintained an attitude of thinking outside the box, and sampled literature from as many of the hard Sciences, as well as String Theory, and Epigenetics, in an effort to round out his studies and draw knowledge from every level of thinking about the human body and what it takes to improve it. Through this lens, Dr. Nelson considers the human body from many different levels while designing treatment protocols and ways in which you can work to improve your function and performance abilities.
Though Dr. Nelson specializes in high performance individuals, he also enjoys working with all populations, from newborns to the elderly, and would love to meet you and have a chance to see how he can help work with you to create a healthier, and happier future.
